‘Day In The Life’ is a style of photography that is buzzing around and gaining in popularity, but what is it exactly? Well, enter me to educate you on all the details and why you should choose to do a day-in-the-life session for this year’s family photos.
Having a day-in-the-life family session is a chance at a truly honest portrait of what it’s like to be a part of your family. It’s your time to sit back, worry about nothing, and let the day just be. And it’s my time to capture all the moments happening that you didn’t know you were missing.
This post will take you through all the steps of how I define day-in-the-life, what to expect during a session, and how to schedule your session or ask further questions. Cuz I’d love to hear from you!

What Is ‘Day In The Life’ Family Photography
I’m starting to get this question SO much from people, and I’m honestly pretty excited about it. I love that day in the life is finally having a moment and getting out there in the world and that people are curious about it.
I’m very passionate about this genre of photography. It excites me and I want everyone to know it’s something available to them. It’s a direction of family photography that embraces the authentic moments of your every day, instead of worrying about the poses, outfits, and perfect hairstyles. This is your family in all its unscripted glory. This is a single day in your life captured in raw genuine images.
Day-in-the-life is a chance for you to experience something extremely special and very real. Something entirely unique to you and your family.
A few things can happen during these types of sessions. Maybe it’s an opportunity for you to let loose. Have a rare day where things just happen and everyone goes with the flow. Or perhaps a chance for your family to have a YES day. Maybe you all experience your first time visiting a theme park, maybe we do nothing but stay in pajamas and play games. It doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters is that you don’t have a care in the world. You sit back and enjoy your day off with the family. I’ll be on the sidelines capturing every moment. Turning your day-to-day into art and capturing moments you didn’t even know were happening.
How Do I Schedule my ‘Day In The Life’ Session
When you know, you know, so if you know this is exactly what you want, then go HERE to inquire on the website or get in touch with me directly, teresalojaconophotography@gmail.com.
I’ll be guiding you every step of the way through booking, the weeks leading up to your session, and then when we finally meet in person. On the day of I’ll spend the first 15 to 20 mins getting familiar with everyone, remembering names, getting an idea of the layout, and what the light is doing, and talking with you for a brief few minutes to get a feel of how the day is going to go. After that, you don’t worry about me at all for the rest of the day. I’ll just do my thing and immerse myself in your day.
To me, there are certain moments in life that truly matter…like rolling around on the bed with your little one, building forts in the playroom, learning to ride a bike, having a beach day, or cooking with mom in the kitchen. Those are the moments that really matter and that bring us so much happiness when we think back on them. These are the memories that we want to hold onto.

A California based photographer keeping it real and capturing all the perfect moments. Hey! My name is Teresa. Between my large Sicilian family, crazy friends and animated boyfriend, I have a tremendous amount of nicknames. SO we will go with Teresa for now but feel free to get creative once we get to know each-other. I was born and raised on the Central Coast in the small town of Templeton, lived in LA during my early 20’s and then spent about 6 years in New York. I’m now back in CA and loving every moment. All I can say is sunshine and tacos, but I do miss bagels and pizza. I love to travel, be outside, cycle and discover new places, eat ice cream and enjoy a cheeseburger, french fries and an ice cold beer tremendously. I’m pretty damn normal, easy to be around and love to laugh around new company. If you are ready, I am ready. Let’s dive in! www.teresalojacono.com
