As a documentary photographer, I’m passionate about capturing your day as it happens—unposed, unscripted, and full of emotion. Whether we’re in San Diego or somewhere across the world, I’m dedicated to telling your unique story with every click of the shutter. My experience shooting both film and digital allows me to create a timeless gallery that feels authentic and cinematic. I can’t wait to meet you and capture the moments you’ll treasure forever.
My photography is a blend of art, experience, and instinct—a little bit of this, a little bit of that.
For over 15 years, I’ve been immersed in the world of photography. It all started when I was 18 and stepped into a darkroom for the first time. That moment sparked a lifelong obsession with capturing the world through my lens. It eventually lead me to the fine art space, collaborating with artists, managing studios, and working alongside galleries and museums.
Through years of studying art and photography—both in undergraduate and graduate school—my aesthetic evolved under the influence of critical theory and contemporary art. I found myself drawn to the intersection of traditional documentary photography and spontaneous, unfiltered moments of real life. My goal is to create images that are raw, honest, and deeply human.
Travel plays a huge role in my creative process. I find inspiration in the unfamiliar—letting light, movement, and emotion guide my eye. Photography is my way of making sense of the world, turning fleeting moments into lasting stories. With a camera in hand, everything becomes a canvas, and every frame is a chance to reveal beauty in the unexpected.
The time had finally come—I left home to begin my journey at ArtCenter College of Design, nestled in the hills of Pasadena. We worked primarily with film, shooting 4x5 and 35mm cameras daily. For the first few semesters, we practically lived in the darkroom, studying the dynamics of film and mastering proper exposure. Those years led me to start my first documentary project, The Beauty Queen Project.
I moved to New York.
The Beauty Queen Project earned me acceptance into graduate school at ICP/Bard—an opportunity I wasn’t going to pass up. My time in New York brought experiences beyond anything I had imagined, and for that, I’m deeply grateful.
Once, I stumbled upon Patti Smith doing a book reading in the middle of Brooklyn Bridge Park. You can’t beat that. Everyone should spend time in New York.
This time it's a solo backpacking trip through Asia. I started in Thailand, traveling south by train and stopping in towns along the way. Then traveled to Singapore, Bali, Vietnam, and Japan.
During that time, I reconnected with an old high school friend and moved back to California, settling in San Diego.
Fun fact: He met me in Japan, and we had our first date there.
After much thought, I chose to pursue wedding photography—but with a vision to do it differently. Not standard. Not typical. But something unique, something that lingers in your mind.
With everything I had learned—both technically and in the discourse of photography—I felt I had a perspective distinct enough to create something fresh in a world that can often feel repetitive.
A year like no other—my first international wedding in Scotland, getting married myself, and stepping into an entirely new chapter of life.
Looking ahead, I want to embrace the process even more—focusing on a “less is more” approach and working with couples who truly value the experience. An experience built on trust, presence, and enjoying the moment.
And personally? I just want to travel everywhere.
