With 2020 being the crazy year that it is, it seems like all types of ‘normalcy’ have gone out the window. For everyone in the wedding industry, including the newly engaged, protocol is a bit different these days, but as always with life, the show must go on. We adapt and make things work by any means possible, and our clients are doing the same. For the couple not interested in pushing the pause button on their vows, turning to an elopement, civil ceremony, or broadcasting their wedding live are all becoming popular options to keep the celebration going.
This post is for anyone considering doing an easy, low-key civil ceremony at San Diegos Marriage Hut. The Marriage Hut is a small empty concession stand that, thanks to the help of staff, has been transformed into a walk-through wedding kiosk. The hut has helped with thousands of weddings over the past months. You can pick-up documents or have an actual ‘ceremony’ right at the window. The employees are incredibly friendly and make each ceremony feel warm and personal. During the ceremony, you are allowed up to 12 guests, and at least one witness is a requirement.
As for the location, you are in for an unexpected treat. The whole surrounding area provides the perfect backdrop for photos. The county building itself is a beautiful building, perfect for dramatic black & whites. The building is surrounded by gardens, tree-lined walkways, water fountains, and several outdoor sculptures. Just across the street, you are standing at San Diego bay, with a grand view of all the ships in the harbor including the Maritime Museum and Star of India. After the ceremony is centrally located for easy access to several of San Diego’s most popular restaurants, including the newly opened Brigantine Seafood & Oyster Bar, located right on the water and just steps from the hut. Basically, the hut has it all. Therefore, you really can’t go wrong with an easy, low-key civil ceremony at San Diegos Marriage Hut.
And the best part is…photography is allowed! Obviously. Lol. Things are a little different, but the results are still the same. My courthouse and elopement collections begin at $500 and are custom made to fit your budget. Inquire HERE.

A California based photographer keeping it real and capturing all the perfect moments. Hey! My name is Teresa. Between my large Sicilian family, crazy friends and animated boyfriend, I have a tremendous amount of nicknames. SO we will go with Teresa for now but feel free to get creative once we get to know each-other. I was born and raised on the Central Coast in the small town of Templeton, lived in LA during my early 20’s and then spent about 6 years in New York. I’m now back in CA and loving every moment. All I can say is sunshine and tacos, but I do miss bagels and pizza. I love to travel, be outside, cycle and discover new places, eat ice cream and enjoy a cheeseburger, french fries and an ice cold beer tremendously. I’m pretty damn normal, easy to be around and love to laugh around new company. If you are ready, I am ready. Let’s dive in! www.teresalojacono.com
